New companies can be registered in the form of Free Zone Establishment (FZE) or a Free Zone Company (FZC). FZEs have one shareholder, FZCs have two or more - or they can open a branch or representative office of their existing company based in the UAE. FZEs or FZCs are limited liability companies governed by the rules and regulations of the Free Zone where they are located. The UAE Commercial Companies Law (CCL) does not apply here.
